** Italic lines represent the inner thoughts of the characters

Yash found himself in a state of astonishment when, out of nowhere, Shyam abruptly barged into Chikki's room while Yash was having a secret meeting with Sachin, Rajkumar, and Chikki. Yash's nerves were already frayed due to Bindu's apparent betrayal, as it was confirmed that she was somehow connected to Karma.

Why the hell would Dadi and Raj allow Shyam to walk upstairs when he can barely walk straight. He thought with utter frustration. Yash could not help but wonder if Shyam had overheard something crucial during his unexpected interruption.

After bidding farewell to his two loyal officers, Yash was about to take his place beside Dadi at the dining table. However, before he could sit down, he scanned the room in search of Chikki. It was during this moment of searching that Raj approached him and discreetly handed him a letter.

“Brother this parcel came for you”

Yash nodded and took the parcel. His blood boiled as he read what was written in the letter.

Tere ghar se, tere samne, chikki ko uthake le jaunga, aur tu kuch bhi nahi kar payega ACP.
(I will take Chikki from your house in front of you and you won’t be to do anything ACP)

He turned to search for Chikki and spotted her standing at the other end of the table, nervously fidgeting with her dupatta. As he gazed upon the girl who both amused and mesmerized him, he made an inner resolve that he would do whatever it took to ensure his Chikki's safety.

My Chikki? What on earth am I thinking? he wondered, internally chastising himself for the possessive thought.

Chikki noticed the anger in his eyes and his rigid posture. As she approached him, he abruptly turned away as though hiding something.

"What's wrong? Whose letter is this?" she inquired; her concern evident in her voice.

"That's mine. Come, let's eat," he hastily dismissed her, not wanting to disclose anything about the letter and witness the fear he had glimpsed in her eyes before. The tension in the room hung heavily, and Yash couldn't shake the feeling that danger lurked nearby, threatening to disrupt the fragile peace they had managed to maintain.

As he settled beside Dadi, he could not help but glance over to ensure if Chikki had taken her seat. To his surprise, his attention was diverted when he saw Shyam limping down the stairs, casting a menacing look in Chikki's direction. Yash's eyes shifted from Shyam to Chikki, who in turn regarded Shyam with a skeptical expression.

What am I missing now?

His mind racing to connect the dots. His thoughts wind back to the day when he had spotted Shyam and Chikki upstairs, both holding a phone. At the time, Shyam had explained that Chikki had found his phone somewhere upstairs, and he was merely thanking her.

However, a nagging question resurfaced: How had his phone ended up upstairs when he had been downstairs with everyone else? Yash had brushed off this query on that day, driven by his desperation to have a private conversation with Chikki and apologize to her. In his eagerness to isolate Chikki, he had momentarily let go of his observations. But now, as he observed the exchanged glances between Shyam and Chikki, his suspicions were rekindled.

I need to talk to Chikki tonight, what is running in her head?

“Chikki, come sit and eat” Yash called out, interrupting her train of thought. Chikki made her way to the other side of the table and took a seat beside Raj. He excitedly served her a portion of palak paneer that he had ordered from his favorite restaurant.

"Give this a try, Chikki. It is my absolute favorite," Raj exclaimed cheerfully. However, his enthusiasm diminished as he noticed Dadi giving him a stern and disapproving look.

“Palak paneer is my favorite” Chikki chirped “Arz kiya hai, Bhale na ho paise, par insaniyat mein hu ameer, aree bhai ruk kyun gye, serve me more palak paneer”

Raj could not contain his excitement as he applauded and praised the poetic beauty of Chikki's Shayari. Yash, observing this exchange, lightly shook his head, a small smile dancing on his lips.

Pagal hai ye Ladki he mused softly to himself, affectionately referring to Chikki as a bit crazy.

Dadi noticed the loving gaze her grandson directed towards the girl seated in front of him. She recognized that look, as her elder grandson used to look at his wife in the same adoring manner.

I would never allow a girl like Chikki to enter this house as my grandson's wife, she thought to herself with firm determination.

Chikki's eyes repeatedly darted towards her room's door, anticipating whether he would arrive tonight with his coffee and her tea. This had become their cherished ritual, whenever she stayed in his house, he would visit her room at night after everyone else had gone to sleep, and together they would savor their tea and coffee. Sometimes, they would engage in conversations about random topics, discuss the cases they were working on, or simply bask in a comfortable, serene silence.

Where is he today?

Her concern grew, and she was on the verge of going to look for him when her door swung open, and Yash walked in with his coffee and her tea in hand.

"Were you heading somewhere?" Yash inquired curiously.

Chikki hesitated for a brief moment, I can't tell him I was going to look for him, she thought. Think, Chikki, think! Don't just stand there like a statue. Say something, anything, as long as it doesn't send your self-esteem fleeing for the hills.

With a playful twinkle in her eye, she finally replied, "I heard a dog crying for milk, so I thought I would help the dog out."

"What? A dog was crying for milk!" Yash gave Chikki a comical look. "Chikki, are you okay? Why are you saying weird things?"

Chikki dismissed his question with a wave of her hand. "Never mind, just give me my tea. I really need it. And why are you late today?"

Yash handed her the tea and followed her to the window, where they always sat. With a small smile, he asked, "So, you were waiting for me?"

Chikki, without glancing at him, retorted, "No, I was waiting for my tea." Her response elicited a chuckle from Yash, and Chikki shot him an irritated look before turning away in frustration. She gathered all her hair to one side and sat in silence

His gaze shifted on her back adorned with the delicate dori, his breath catching as wild thoughts raced through his mind. He wanted to run his fingers along the exposed skin where the flimsy dori ended, and then trace that same path with his tongue. His heart raced and pupils dilated as vivid images of him slowly undoing her dori flashed through his imagination.

"Should I... open your dori?" Yash whispered, almost lost in his reverie.

"Ji?" Chikki's puzzled response snapped him out of his trance.

"I mean dori..... Uh I mean I am sorry I was late today," Yash stammered, attempting to regain his composure. "Uh, the thing is, I couldn't find 'chikki' to put in your tea."

"What? 'Chikki' in my tea?" Chikki asked, utterly bewildered.

"I mean 'cheeni'—sugar!" Yash corrected himself, feeling a tad nervous. Control your fucking nerve ACP.

He took a hasty sip of his scalding hot coffee and winced as he inadvertently burned his lips.

"Fuck!" Yash let out a sharp cry as the scalding hot liquid from his coffee seared his lips. He frantically attempted to soothe the burnt area with his finger, but it offered no relief.

Suddenly, a cold touch graced his burnt lips, and a shiver rippled through his entire body in response to the sensation. As he looked up, he found Chikki gently caressing his scorched lips with her trembling cold fingers. His breath hitched as he registered the look in her eyes, and his own eyes dilated in response. A powerful tension surged through his body as Chikki continued to delicately stroke the burned area.

“Is it better now” Chikki asked with concern prominent on her face.

“No, but you can make it better” Yash practically groaned out the words.

“How?” Chikki asked.

“Here, let me show you” Yash held her face with both his hand and pulled her close to his, as his breath fanned her face, Chikki moaned softly with the sheer erotism around them. Yash slowly kissed her forehead, then dropped feather light kisses around her eyes and kissed her nose.

As he opened his eyes, he saw Chikki's trembling lips waiting to be touched by his. Unable to wait anymore, he darted his tongue out and traced the outline of her lips. Their breathing got heavier when his tongue slowly started exploring her inner lips. He kept teasing her with his tongue and not actually kissing her properly, unable to take the assault Chikki held his T-shirt for support.

"Kiss me," she whimpered.

"Gladly," Yash replied as he leaned in to capture her lips with his.

"Yash?" Chikki gently shook Yash, trying to bring him back from his trance. He had been sitting with his eyes closed and his tongue lazily hanging out for the past five minutes.

Why is he sitting like this with his tongue hanging out? Is he envisioning my imaginary dog that was crying for milk? Chikki mused with a hint of amusement.

"Is it better now?" Chikki asked loudly whilst giving him a confused look

Yash suddenly came back to reality and looked around. "Shit, I was just dreaming," he muttered to himself. He then turned to Chikki, who was giving him a bewildered look, as if he had grew horns on his head.

Yash could not help but wonder why he had been kissing her in his dream. As he recalled the dream kiss, his body tightened in response. Oh no, he thought, she can't see me like this!

He quickly looked down and realized that his desire was quite evident. “Time to get the hell out of here," he thought to himself, "or I'll end up kissing her for real. I'll talk to her tomorrow, but I can't embarrass myself today."

"Yeah, I'm alright. Well then, goodnight," Yash said, hastily rising from his seat.

"Are you sure you're okay, Yash?" Chikki followed him to the door. "I wanted to talk to you too," Chikki added, attempting to stop him, I need to talk to him about Shyam. She thought.

As Yash turned suddenly, he collided with Chikki. She began to lose her balance, but Yash instinctively reached out, catching her by the waist and preventing her from falling. Their bodies pressed close together, and Yash could feel his self-control slipping away rapidly. He gently brushed his fingers against Chikki's cheeks and whispered, "I really must leave." He leaned his forehead against hers, struggling to regain control over his rapidly racing heart.

Get a grip on your emotions, ACP, he silently chanted to himself, a battle waging inside him.

"Are you upset because you didn't get much palak paneer today?" Chikki asked, a playful rhythm in her voice.

"Shut up, Chikki," Yash retorted, pulling her even closer to his body. Her laughter faded into silence, and they remained locked in each other’s arms for a while. Eventually, Yash averted his gaze to diffuse the building tension.

He cleared his throat as he reluctantly let her go, his body already yearning for her warmth. "Goodnight," he muttered before abruptly leaving.

"He really is Ajeeb Vardhan Chauhan," Chikki remarked, rolling her eyes as she watched him depart.
